Did you glue a piece over the top and trim it in? It doesn't look too noticeable going by the pics.

Not the end result but feels heaps better as the wear is typically where the hand is a lot of the time...

Nah I hacked the bit of leather off...lol. Might glue a new piece in its place.

So knocking from flex plate is slight but is definitely returning. Tbh I didn't use any locktite on the 2 bolts so altho yes, it's designed for 3 x bolts and I have just 2, maybe some locktite would've held longer. I know it's not ideal but is holding till I get the time to pull apart and fix as don't look like a quick job getting access. I've searched a few times on YouTube of how to swap one on this car but can't find anything so it'll be a 'pull apart and remove anything in the way' effort me thinks...

So can't wait to get these. He sells loads and will do whatever you want but his leather (prob leather look but anyways) cards are popular I know.
