My Opa was a senior member of the Dutch resistance. One mission he was a part of was recently featured in this Mark Felton video:
They had apparently been fking around in the SS uniforms before the operation and my Oma absolutely kicked his arse over it. Could have done a lot of harm.
He had to hide in and out of the Rhine for days while the SS and their dogs looked for him. Sometimes under water breathing through a pipe. Very cold.
He was on first name terms with Eisenhower. He greated the Prince when Holland was liberated.
