I've never used my garage for parking a car in before as it was used primarily for storage, so I've got a ton of crap and several years worth of dust to contend with. I wanted to paint my floor too but I definitely won't have time now. A quick tidy up and clean will have to do.
Hey Zero. Amongst the excitement have you had a chance to press them about the assembly photos as to whether they taken and available ? Seems to be a great deal of confusion around this. Would any of the members have any updated intel on this ? My dealer has nothing on it.

So can you fit your car in your garage? Or is it really a bomb site? I have a 2.5 car garage and I can barely walk through it. No cars can fit of course. I think I should map out a plan of what I want to do ie: throw out some boxes, install some shelves, throw out more boxes, and paint the floor while I'm shuffling some stuff around. It gives a terrible cement dust and always wanted to paint it. Better start cracking.

There is a concrete sealer/paint system that a mate of mine got for his garage floor, cost about $200 from bunnings. Worked very well if your interested.

Yes, my neighbour used something like that from Bunnings, but he used 2 coats and has already scratched it. I have a paint specialist around the corner from me, and they usually beat Bunnings prices, and I'll make sure I do at least 3 coats. I'll probably still scratch it...

Mate you are sooo lucky to get to see it offloaded from the truck. As important a part of the process as the assembly line photos. And the opportunity to see it is OK before the dealers touch it. After seeing your post last week that yours was coming I tried to contact my dealer and got a message Thursday night that it was still due 'at the end of the month'. Then Saturday I got a call to say it was now in stock. Bugger - too late to see it because they don't keep them in the open anymore like when my VE arrived. So I guess the first time I see it will be when I pick it up in the next couple of days. I have made it very clear from day 1 (14 December) that it needs to be perfect (no rush), so here's hoping! Enjoy yours (and get that garage organised!)
Hey LastV8,
As this is my final ever purchase of a new Australian made Holden, and most likely my last new car purchase ever, I had to make sure that everything was right, including getting the photos of it being delivered. I emailed my salesman a few weeks before my car was due to arrive and asked him to provide me with the exact date that the car was being delivered to the dealership. He was very understanding and went out of his way to make sure my specific requests were met, for which I am grateful.
For anyone in the same boat, don't be afraid to ask your dealer for things like this. When you are paying 60 big ones for a car they should be going out of their way to help, and considering the circumstances they should understand how sentimental this purchase is to some of us.

Hey RedBadge,
With all the excitement of seeing the car yesterday, the photos were the last thing on my mind. I"ll find out tomorrow when I pick the car up, so I'll let you know.

You are so right there. I'm blowing a large chunk of my retirement funds on this special purchase! Since I made it quite clear how picky I was going to be maybe they didn't want me to see it dirty?, but in defence of the salesman ( :) ) he did reply to me after 8pm on the Thursday so didn't have access to stock records I guess. Hoping to get a sneak peek (and maybe photos) today fingers crossed.

Hey Zero and other new (or to be) MY17 owners. Just went to the dealer and found my car! For those who like Spitfire and big wings here's a few photos. Still hard to capture the true colour even with a half decent camera (compared to my phone). Just waiting for the tint then ready to go by Thursday. And Zero, like you, it's hard to leave it behind when it would be way safer in my garage (which has space!) - and yes the towbar sort of ruins it - maybe I need a black chrome ball and shackles?

Congratulations LastV8, looks brilliant!!! The towbar wouldn't really bother me but it probably would look better if it was blacked out.
Looks like we are going to receive our cars 1 day apart hey?? I know how you must be feeling right now..it's such an exciting time isn't it?
Oh btw, I've been out in the garage all day today, it's nearly ready!

Looking good Last V8. I would be interested on photo's of the window tinting as I will be getting it done on mine. I'm not sure whether to get 35% of 20%. What did you decide on?
