Hi all,
Hoping someone out there can help me. I have a USB filled with dance music in folders and albums. My issue is that some of the albums (not all) do not play in the order they are on the album which I have ripped from CD to MP3.

This is very annoying as some of you might know with dance albums they are mixed in together so should be played back that way.

When I go through the menu and select an album to play it starts to play a track half way through and then all over the place rather than in order from the first track on wards. It is NOT on shuffle mode.

Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it??

My first advise would be to stop listening to dance music.

If that is unachievable :p, I'd check the id3 tags and how the files are named by they ripping software.

Hahaha...thanks for the advice mate, that did make me laugh! I listen to all genres of music but just recently started to listen to some old stuff Ive got and thats when I noticed what was happening. You'd think the ID3 tags would all come across since I used the same computer with the Windows Media Player to rip them all...

Open up the USB they're on in Tag&Rename and verify everything looks right in there.

My guess is that the ripping software named them something like:
  • <artist> - <album> - <songname>
You want something more like:
  • \<artist>\<year> - <album>\<track#> - <songname>
Eg: \Michelle Jackson\1979 - Killer\01 - Jillie Bean.wma

Note: \<xxx>\ denotes a folder

Did Michael rip-off his little-known sister?!
Dance music was better back then. *hums riff from Kiss' I Was Made For Loving You*

Get used to it, mine will play one folder one day and next time it will be something different, then will start on radio, then flip to navigation, real handy when listening to audio books when it goes haywire, then remembering what file you were listening to.

Could be a a problem with the USB drive as well - try another, less cheapo one.

I think the mylink success rate of picking up where it left off improved over the years with the updates. It could never get it right 4 years ago but these days it seems like it has its **** together most of the time.

You will need to number your tracks with a number at the beginning of each file to work properly. Eg 01 ,02, 03 plus the song name. This worked for me with the CDs that mixed songs into each other.
