I am in a bit of a fix, I have just replaced the head and if anyone out there has a picture of the settings it would be well appreciated.
Thanks Cliff

Im presuming you have a timing light, and im presuming you know how to use it. If I presure too much then get back in touch!!

The factory timing should be set to 15 degrees BTDC. Refer my handy pic (drawn from the front of the engine) to see where that is.

What he means is the position of the cam gear at TDC.....

In that case the riming belt has marks as well as the cam gear and the harmonic ballancer

Ah right, gotcha. And bugger, I don't have my workshop manual with me sorry so I couldn't tell you. I'll know tomorrow night when I drive back up to Auckland, so I'll post then unless some kind hearted person beats me to it.

Mike.

I dont think you need to find it in a manual, the timing belt should line up with the marks on the crankshaft and camshaft.

Well i've got a timing belt sitting next to me, and it ain't the case. No marks on it. Could just be this belt.
