The only way I break traction in my VL is if it's raining, or if I do a u-turn and floor it, even doing that in the dry does hardly anything unless I come up to, say, a set of lights at fair speed, then hard right and floor it, otherwise it's pretty piss.

If you have a 'worked turbo' VL and cant get it to 200, its the diff gears not the engine.

Calling him a retard was maybe going a bit overboard though?

fair call on the retard. i meant it as in "are you a retard or are you trying to stir people up?" kind of way insinuating that to seriously believe that your average p-plate legal vl is a death trap due to speed is something only someone completely out of touch with reality could believe. had the statement been regarding safety features and the mentality of a p-plater who wants to drive a vl then yeah the statement about them being in a high risk bracket would be true.

re diff gears mine is running 3.45's not 4.11's or anything silly. it can hit crazy speeds but tbh i haven't pushed it past 200 and only hit that once. it regularly hits 160-80 easily on private and closed roads :) but never tried pushing it past 200. i get enough of a rush at 180 :/ its a pretty bouncy sled at times.

I hope OP didn't take aoffence at the retard bit. i was just blown away by the thought that a vl is a powerful car and can break traction etc at speed. ep in an auto. I've owned one on p-plates and it never behaved like the first post describes. nor have i known any other vl owners to have those problems.

I see just as many ########s in the newspaper losing control of thier 4cyl front wheel drives.

People just need to drive to thier ability.

The problem with that is most people, especially those who have little experience, have no real clue what their ability is.
