Hey everyone I am thinking about buying an older 6 cly commodore to drive while I fix up my vs! And I was going to pull it off the road and put a v8 in after my other car is finished but I have been told new rules in Qld now you can't do the v8 conversion ?? Does anybody know the truth in this?

if the engine was an option from the factory (which it was), then no problems. Don't even need a mod plate
as long as you upgrade brakes, suspension etc to match the V8 model

Ok cool, so the vh for example came out with a 5l engine, I could put that in with no mod plate ? But if I wanted to put a ls1 it would need to be approved! Obviously mounts and everything would need to be done! + brakes ect
