New SV6 Colours

SV6 Turismo

Hi all,

I'm gunna try and attach some pics for your viewing of the SV6 i got last week (camera phone until i get my digital camera pics developed hehe). SV6 turismo mica.

I have just driven from Newcastle to Canberra and back again, around the Canberra hills/pine forests , and all i can say is it is a pleasure to drive.

8.3 l/100kms' - between Canberra/Goulburn averaging 116km/h.
8.9 l/100kms' - driving via M5 in Sydney to Newcastle expressway averaging 80km/h


No loud noises as per other posts - i quite like the sound of it - i drove a 2003 v6 Ford Fairmont last week and found it rough and gravelly compared to the SV6.

My son liked it as well -its so quiet to drive he can sleep!

congrats on your new set of wheels.good choice as a family car as mine is,i really liked the look of turismo on the monaro,when i heard turismo was coming out on the sv6,i thought that would look crap,but now seing your ride i see different,looks sweet.excellent economy with my engine too,depends on your driving style i suppose,but good to drive on freeway,very smooth.enjoy. :hit:

forget to add holden needs to have a good look at some of it colours a be a bit different,i would have liked that saffron gold the brought out a few years back,that looked sweet,but old colours like gunmetaly gey would be sweet or candy apple red,just my two cents.

Loui do you know if any SV6 have been done in the Fusion colour yet as we are interested in seeing the colour on it ?

Found out today the Fusion will only be coming out on HSV models, should be out by the end of the year

Thats a same that they will only be out in Fusion.

Well looks like the VX is sold so we are off and trying to find a Turismo now.

Has anbody got a manual SV6 is so whats it like compared to the auto ?

Trying to decide but we are leaning towards the manual

I tried both the auto and the manual prior to ordering my SV6 with a manual box. The auto is a great gearbox, really smooth. The active-select shift mode feel a lot more responsive than the Falcon (don't ask !) but at the end of the day it was still a little bit too gimicky for my liking and got bored of it quickly. Having to push a button in the centre console to go into manual mode was a bit of a pain. The 6 speed is a great gearbox. Compared to the old 5 Speed I had in my old VX S and the 6 Speed in my mate's VX SS, this thing is sweet. Clutch is nice and short as is the throw into each gate. Reverse can be a bit of a bastard to get into sometimes. Hope this helps.

OK the other day I saw a VY II Calais in "Glaze". It's just like Orion Frost (the silver with the blue in it of the VT). Looks nice IMHO.

Glaze will be back soon too, plus Kaos and pavlo (somthing like that) havent seen these last two colours yet so not sure what they are like
