New Tailshaft?

Ooops, did some damage to my car over the weekend and I need to know if I need to purchase a new tailshaft or whether I can just replace the joint. I had a breif look and thought the cross shaped peice may be held in with o rings but it doesn't look like it is...

I don't wanna have to replace the tailshaft because it'll have to be balanced and that's another pain/expense...

How in the world did you snapped it off?? They are damn tough to break!!!

I'm not sure but you could get another this 'thing' that bolts the tailshaft to the diff not sure what it called though.

It's just the uni joint, any mechanic could do it or you could give it a shot if you have a vice, circlip pliers, hammer and a gregory's manual would help aswell.

Those caps are pressed into he pinion yoke and the tail shaft. Circlips hold them in too. WTF were you doing that you snapped a uni joint???

If you thought you had to buy a new tail shaft then you would be best getting someone else to change it.

i never balance my new tailshaft, went on and was sweet as for ages, it is easy too replace and will only cost you about 50 bucks from the wreckers for a decent tailshaft.
