Hi guys,

Many of you would have seen the Premier of Victoria’s facebook.

On there is a poll for the most popular subject.

The new Drag Racing venue has topped the poll.

Now to vote on the poll you must register. This is to ensure that
those responding are Victorians.

So please everyone of you…go to the following link – register – then
support the poll! (Errr – NOW!!!!)

build a drag strip in Melbourne - Premier of Victoria

Do it now guys as we have their attention and they are trying to see
how many ‘Victorians’ want this…and get friends and relations who are
supportive to do the same!

People NEED to get behind this.

ANDRA are doing a real good job to help this move along. I thought when it started, no way... but the momentum looks unstopable right now, also starting to see a really big backlash on the over the top hoon laws and internet filter too which is good :). Keep pushing it!

I also think the hoon laws are really helping with this, backfired almost :). Although a track wont stop street racing amoung slow cars it has reduced it alot in this area (probably less than half what it was), and for all intent there is no street racing of fast cars here anymore

I went to the Motorvation gig that was at Flemington last weekend, and dropped my name down on the petition, was great to see all the dragsters/burnout cars there in person, kinda hit home when I saw a few - project vehicles, you could see the bare chassis and a few other bits and pieces, obviously strengthened and whatnot ready for 10-second quarters, and big stickers on the windscreen saying "no point finishing my car now, got no where to race".

The issue certainly does need pushing!

It would be beneficial to the state on many many levels!

So please spread the word and start posting up on various forums etc :beer chug:

Cheers
Steve

Yep Drag racing has stayed alive and well in the Western half of the states, there's heaps of fast 1000hp cars out this way and plenty of good 1/8th mile tracks but even the guys from around here wouldn't mid going to a nearby 1/4 mile once in a while. Some of the more serious guys often go to Sydney for a race and that's all money that's going to NSW rather than Victoria just because there's been no suitable track here for at least 10 years and even back then Calder had allready gone to rubbish
