no third or fourth gear

i have a vp commodore that wont go into third or fourth gear. Sometimes it will go into third and fourth and it seems fine also has no reverse.
the only thing i have been able to think of is one of the solenoids are gone.
any help would be good cheers

Yep - rebuild time. Almost never gets better with out being worked on.

yea i figured got a gearbox for $150 so ill drop that in when i get a chance cheers

ok ive put my new gearbox in but have no gears now there's nothing no reverse neutral drive nothing its clicking into the gears but not doing anything
i haven't got back under it yet thought id ask around and see if anyone could help
would it be the square plug on top of the gearbox?

ddi you change torque convertor?? What is the gearbox from?

torque convertor is in there and its off a vp commodore same gearbox 2hdd i think
