I had done a cylinder compression test just before the charger went on and they were all around the same, gonna do another one when I get my tester back and see if anything has changed

I know a lot of 383's out there are running belt driven vacuum pumps these days.

A mate's 383 was constantly blowing rear main seals/gaskets at high RPM due to the high compression etc, his engine builder recommended a vacuum pump which solved the problem.

Man get that comp down or this won't last !!!

And it will destroy every thing !!!

I had mate that did exactly this, had a 10:1 comp worked 355 stroker, he brought the car (vs ute) from a guy who built it and then went and put a blower on it when I told him not to and it lasted maybe 5000 km before goin bang and it ended in tears for him

What cam is this running ??? Please don't say something with 110 or 108 LSA N/A cam that it had in that motor to start with

But to ur problem have u got a catcher can that both valve covers go to with a filter on it ??? Blowen motors need something like this (good ventilation) it can not be sucked into engine like factory, if so do a pressure test on all cylinders to see if u have blowen rings and pressurising crank case from that

What did your cylinder compression test one to ??? What was the psi ???

Myn is a purpose built boost motor and brand new it was 145psi

When u do this have the spark plugs out and throttle open

10:1 compression & 8 PSI boost is more than capable of running for a long time. This is only possible if the car has a large intercooler, runs 98 octane or higher & has a spot on tune.
