Sounds like you might be on to so etching there, lower rpm it runs rough and sounds kinds liking it's missing but get the revs up and it runs fine. Will defiantly look into it! Cheers mate

Yeah mine ticked like mad at idle with pressure building up in the rocker cover, when you have the cap off whilst it runs, oil clouds came out at the same interval that my engine would tick.

Any thoughts on alloy heads vs cast? Obviously alloys lighter but trying to figure out which would be better for this application

heh. the ol' ally vs cast debate... how much time you got on your hands?

cast are better for heat transferance as in retaining heat and getting it out the exhaust
ally are better for heat transferance as in radiating heat out the walls so the engine runs cooler and has a cooler intake charge.

both crack
ally is lighter
cast has greater resistance to shifting/warping.

personally, i like cast stuff, but most people would disagree with me (although ill fight to the bitter end)

Doesn't matter with this set up, your restriction will be the blower

U won't get much more then 400 rwkw with a v1, v2, v3 T trim (they are all pretty much the same and all rated to 825hp max)

And that will only be made with a really efficient set up

Weather u use cast or alloy ur goin to be very similar power wise except alloy will cost twice as much for no real gains

On this I'm goin with cast

Found a stock set of heads, so I'm thinking about getting them ported and all the good bits put in and put them on the car. Old head has to come off anyway so may as well get some to suit and get that compression down!
I've got yella terra roller rockers already so they will go in too
