oil leak stops at halfway on dipstick

After loosening the sump to disable the balance shaft, my car leaks oil until about half way on the dipstick then stops (seemed to only do it after it got hot/engine fan came on).

I cleaned the oil off the sump, and found a couple of loose bolts so retightened etc... but it looked like it kept leaking from the sump.

Does this sound right to you guys, and is it much to worry about?

yea, helped to get the front cover off. Maybe I should have tried a bit harder with the sump on...

If it's leaking from the same spot where you undid the bolts then the sump would prob need to be re sealed. Any oil leak to me is more than enough to worry about

Did you replace the sump gasket and ensure the surface of the sump was level?
