oil pressure gauge

ive just put an oil pressure gauge in my car and every time i turn something electrical on, ie parkers, brakes, indicators, my oil pressure apparantly drops, it goes from 3 bar down to almost .5!!!

any ideas???

i used to have the same problem with my tacho(external) on the VN... being lazy i never got around to looking at why, potentionally a bad earth.

ive hooked it up to 2 seperate earths and no change

check the wiring on the back of the gauge to make sure the connectors arent touching there? from what i remember these gauges work by getting 12 volts through the gauge and the ground goes through to the sensor. check that wire isnt touching the globe wiring

have done a few checks and the oil pressure sender itself is buggered

where the factory oil pressure switch is. you can run both using a T piece, or just ditch the factory one

i have a T piece but my oil from the turbo runs off it

are t pieces readily available from autobarn, supercheap and the likes? looking to put a couple of gauges in myself but still want the warnings to work through the dash also
