How? I have read people saying it's an easy job with socket or wrench. I beg to differ. There is no room to move a wrench or ring spanner. So I looked to get a socket. It seems to be a 1 1/16 or 27 mm. But it has to be a 6 point deep socket not a 12 point one because they do not attach - do you think I can find a 27 mm 6 point deep socket in Adelaide? Everywhere I go they are 12 point.
So I looked at Repco, they have a specific socket 27 mm oil pressure switch socket, great, only it doesn't go deep enough, unbelievable.
So I went and got the one off of Total Tools website https://www.totaltools.com.au/oil-pressure-switch-socket-25-27mm-1-1-1-16
It is exactly the same as the Repco one, probably made by same factory. It fits perfectly if you go from behind the switch, unfortunately you need to go over top of the plastic terminal not from behind. It's not bloody deep enough, crazy to think someone designed this socket and didn't test with a VT Commodore the biggest seller of the era.
So how do you guys get this darn switch off?
Note, I believe the VZ has a different shape and can be used with a 12 point socket.
