Vx berlina wagon with climate control took the head bit out and soldered in blue leds, put it all back together it all went well, drove home and although the head unit all seemed to work well and lit up beatifully the aircon will only come out of the demister when you change positions with the switch it makes no differance
I tried a search but everything is about vacum hoses on a normal HVAC units

I would be looking at any possible damage the soldering iron did........
Maybe you inadvertantly touched something with the iron.
Also electronic circuits don't like a lot of heat, especially from a soldering iron.
If you leave the iron on a part too long, heat can transfer through the circuit to vunerable parts.
If I was soldering on something like that, maximum 25 watt iron with 1 mm width solder. Even then I would be nervous.
Just remember 60/40 solder(the most common) melts at 188c, that's nealy twice the boiling point of water.

All sorted, pulled dash out this morning and had a good look and finally noticed that 1 wire had come loose in one of the connectors
