Oxygen Sensor Error Code

Hi all,

I'm a mechanic by no means, but while trying to diagnose why my car is over heating i checked the fault codes to see if it gave any clue and the fault code that came up was 13, which is the Oxygen Sensor.

Should I be concerned?
Will this contribute to my overheating?

It shouldn't contribute to overheating at all. It's a common fault, and causes the car in most cases to run rich (Wasting fuel), but that should keep it cool if anything.

We'll need more details. Engine type, condition of coolant, what you mean by "overheating" etc...

Common causes of temperature spikes are a sticky thermostat, or a poorly bled system containing pockets of air.

Common causes of consistently high temperatures are a blocked radiator, poor coolant quality, calcified water galleries in the engine block, blocked hoses, etc.
