Plastic kit or fiberglass kit?
Fiberglass kit will take a bit more work in the prep bay, and doesn't quite look as good after paint if you stand and stare at the car for ages.

I have been looking at getting my vb painted and it seems a bare metal job inside and out is around 200-300 hours work depending on rust repairs or not etc so if you look at $100 an hour that’s 20k or so plus whatever the paint etc costs. the body kit fitting on top but if you don’t go back to bare metal would be cheaper so depends on the condition.
I went to a car show recently and there were a lot of cars there that had been repainted and when you got up close a lot of them weren’t that flash which is probably because people don’t wanna pay top dollar for a top job so they do it on a budget.
