painting over where the gaskets go???

i just had a quick urgent question before i paint my engine.
does it really matter about painting over for example the exhaust manifold where the gasket sits and that? or any other gasket place? iv coverd all exept for exhaust manifold and was wondering is it going to affect it in any way or any other gasket? like would it not have proper sealing or something when its painted over?

mate i would take the paint off either with a paint scraper or something. i dont mean to sound precocious but if the factory intentioned it to be painted then they would have painted it. also if the painted is not heat rated it may cracked and leave gaps btween gaskets and headrs or flake off and clog cat

well i didnt really know if they have been painted by factory or not the whole engine was one colour which was dark brown. i was just checking to be sure anyways. and i have used engine enamel on it. but ill just scrape some of it off.
