Petrol fumes from Heater ???

3-4 months back we had the VT's heater coil replaced and air con fixed together. The air con has since **** itself again wich has somthing to do with a gasket apparently..... my big concern is the petrol fume smell we get through the vent occasionaly when we use the heater........have taken back to the mechanic who installed the new coil but everytime he has it he doesnt get the fumes....... has anyone encountered anything similar....

is the check valve in the vacuum hose at back of plenum

Vt stroker twin turbo
I had the same problem and I had steam also come out with mine my head gasket was stuffed and was leaking into the radiator when I used heater I could smell it I fixed the gasket and never had a problem since

check valve is in engine bay, in the middle between engine and firewall at about the same height as the top of the motor,
it is usually white a bit bigger than a marble and it will be in the middle of a 5mm hose
