Pipe Frame Buggy Running VN V6
Hi, i have a pipe frame buggy, im mounting a vn v6 in it.

my question

i have taken off the power steering and aircon.

how do i re route the belt? i have thought of putting a grooved pulley on the idler and using a short belt.
is this the best way?

i thought about keeping the ac on and using it as an air copmressor to fill the tyres but a friend told me it heats up really quick and its probably not a good idea.

Make brackets with idler pulleys? AC comp weighs a bit, but if you disconnect it, it won't be using power or anything. Search for Mortons blue VN, I think he did something similar. Otherwise have a look at a few speedway set ups.

think you will find that most modern AC compressors have spider gears which disable the comp while its not in use. removing it does F' all since there is no resistance anyway.

if you are after an easy fix, then just run the belt like normal. a V groove will mean buying a complete pulley kit which are not all that cheap.

You could use the non A/C belt for the VN as the shorter option. Holden p/n 92036699 from memory. Can't help you on the P/S part of it though.
