Look at them, they have fat bottoms... well, fat everything, really, compared to VN-S :)

Seriously though I'm at a loss for where to even start designing mine. Never done anything like this before.

Needs:
Battery
Fuel system
Sub
Removeable at least enough to get to spare wheel

Wants:
15" sub size, ideally reverse mounted.
Totally removeable

no idea how to even start drawing/planning/whatever :/

In my vy ute I have alpine type s splits on the doors, type s 6x9s behind head rests, supercheap model kenwood 12s behind each seat with a Titan audio 2400 watt amp and cheapo axis headunit which has been going strong for 2 years. Pumps pretty well

Here are multiple pics of my VZ system.

Hope its not too many pics. There are some random pics of sound deadening, the custom kick panels and dash pods. The finished boot. The custom chrome trim ring.

Any questions shoot.

All work competed by owner, FCA and Phatt Audio Concepts.

Alpine CDE-W233E Head unit
Response Precision 4ch Amp 4 x 100w running Response 6.5" Coaxials w/tweeters 2 in front doors, 2 in rear doors
Response Precision 2ch Amp 1000w running Alpine S series in vented 80L box

I used the Aerpro facia kit no: FP8018 that suits the VT-VX models, it fits snug as bug around the Alpine deck and looks fantastic!
Purchased PAC SWI RC to use the original steering wheel controls with Alpine deck.
Also, if anyone else has problems programming the PAC SWI RC to work with the Alpine, the PAC MUST be programmed for "9", hold down the program button and turn the ignition on, then release, and press the program button 9 times in a row, this sets the program, ign off, then make sure the trim pot is set on "1", then ign on after that you can configure your buttons.

Next will be dampening the vibrations, looking at Dynamat when the hand brake and budget allows.

Truly awesome system, i bet it sounds superb, i really like the attention to detail, i can only aspire to your workmanship, well done :)

Question, are those tweeters in the front kick panels? if so, why are they so low in the car, i always thought tweeters need to be up near ear level to get benefit of high frequencys?

By mounting them close to the midbass speakers down low, you get more of a one source point of reference for each side and also it keeps the distance from left and right closer to even which obviously aids in timing and also minimize reflections off the glass. A well set up system like this you will still have a great sound stage height but will sound even better than a conventional tweeter high, bass low set up.

Finally got some tunes up front now, no where near happy with my wiring and i've decided my sub enclosure is too big (not for sound reasons) so i'm wanting to make some changes there i just cbf with it at the moment pulling the car to bits is starting to do my head in !! Next time the trims come off will be for rain hats and deadning, i can't fill the main service hole because it's freakin ginormous and is not flat, best thing i can do is tape it and hope for the best.
