I've heard though I could be wrong that the racks are different for each model, as every time they were refining to give the cars a better ride.. I've been seriously incorrect in the past though so better wait for someone who actually does know lol

The power steering is a bit too light with the six cylinder I did it to my vh a long while ago.The actual steering rack , rack shaft to steering shaft with universals and pump came from a v8 and I got the 2 lines ...high pressure and low pressure from gmh new...thats how long ago it was.
The bracket is real complicated and has a few spacers and bolts across the front taking in the thermostat housing timing cover bolts ...saw one in a wreck recently ...and has a stay at the back to keep it all in line and a 2 belt pulley for the extra steering belt. I have actually inhereted the car ......it will be my sons first car (vh commodore wagon) so if you are keen I could post up a few picts.

BT50............ while the vk is rebuilt
Parts needed all being VH

Power steering rack
Power steering pump, brackets and bolts
Power steering oil lines, high and lower pressure

You should check and make sure that the spline on the rack, that the steering column fits to, is the same between manual and power steering. I can remember if it is or not, but some thing is telling me its not.

Should all be a bolt on job, and don't forget to get a wheel alignment done after
