Dont stress.....It is all about amprage..You need a MIG to get quality...ARC is hard unless highly skilled....and well if you have TIG, i can weld your ring pull back on an aluminium can. If your weld looks like chook ****...amprage to LOW...If you are blowing holes..well obviously amperage to high......Cut all affected sections out....only way to really fix....then break the area up in to sections and cut replacement steel accordingly,, after welding sections in, finishing Flap discs on an angle grider are the easiest way to clean up excess weld steel....once all smoothISH...apply light coverage of bog to achieve perfect body lines...sand back with300grit reducing to800grit,,,then undercoat.......sand undercoat back with 800 grit, then 1200....apply paint.......then the fun begins
