So what do you do if you have a matching key and bcm but different car and ecu? Idk if I should buy the plug and play or not it says it only supports vs and up

The ECU isn't linked to the BCM in VN-VS. You can swap any ECU you like into it without the need for linking as long as it's correct for the model.
