vl is looking hot shaun! and summer time is slowly creeping up :) should be a great summer cruiser!
cheers Steffan
not long now anyway, should see summer this year

Hey man, loving the car hey. Absolutely awesome job with it.

Would you be able to tell me how much was spent on paint + thinners in total? also primers etc, cheers man :D

thanks Mattumus
as for paint it depends on colour, mine as alot of pearl in the basecoat so its more expensive then other colours
if you look back through the thread there is prices but im not sure what page

put a nut on the upper control arms bolt, blocked a few fuel pipes

well car is clean again, needs polishing bad. paint work is really bumming me
still **** loads of runs along it,
under seals arent fully coloured in
tail light garnish is too brown and in sun light doesnt look right

car was towed out this morning

got exhaust done first, red back system with all new rubber hangers
my front pipe is a little twisted so the rear sits high near the bumper

so once i bring it back down he will fix it up,
he left the standerd rear pipe of the rear so its stood out a fair way,
i said ill weld the tip on later and not to worry

while following the car from the exhaust place to hi tech i was looking at the exhust and how small it looked
so once we got it off the truck at hi tech i tryed butting my 3" dumper tip too the end and sure behold it was smaller:bang:
2.5"<2.75" somewhere around that

illl measure everything once i get the time too and if its wrong ill be taking it back and get the 3" system i payed for:p

hi tech played with the car a few hours this afternoon and called me with some news
they removed alll the plugs and tryed turning the motor over by hand but its tight still

double checked that ive got all my box/clutch on right and thats not holding it

they seem too think the motor is half siezed and when the starter trys cranking the engine is causing so much resitance that it draws the power from the comp,

so tommorow there going too soak all the cylinders with diesil too loosen it up and see if it helps,

**** Sean, thats not sounding too good then??
Hopefully it free's up a bit and will spin nicely, was it running fine before?

Its frustrating about the exhaust hey, you asked/payed for something, and didnt receive it?!

But on the plus side, it looks ****ing killer hey, :yeah: the rear end looks sweet altogether - the tank came up a treat, nice paint job on it!

About the only other thing it needs, if you do the texture coating/sound deadening under the wheel arches, the spare tyre well would like some too!! :whistling

well it was running fine last time we had it running proberly, the no exahust manifold on the head time heheh
but since ive put it back in the car its been stiff,
might of got some moister into it while on the stand

we will see about the exhaust, might be just the rear end after the ressy is smaller. seemed about same as the cat/front pipe half way along the system

yer i need to do my texter coat bad, will get it up off the floor and seam brush seal everything first before i texter coat it
but its on my list of things to do ha

seal panels - under the door edges on the shell, there not fully covered blue, still semi primer colour

ill get you a pic up soon of the rear in the right light, makes the garnish look brown

i stand back and think.......... it good from far but far from good, not quite up to my standerds

can see how the right side of the garnish is browny in the light, were not in direct sunlight its fine

thing is that the pin strip on 7four7 car is that the red doesnt match the blue, so hence the thought of grye and white

well car is home and the verdic is the motor is siezed
so problem is pritty much solved already:p

picked up a vl berlina wagon for 600
same interior as mine and runs/drives fine
perfect, no noise and series 2 block so no drilling:dance:

so wreaking that for parts cheap and can pinch crap for mine, ie seat belts, better trim pieces etc

new wagon for parts
