Hello I am new to this group. I have found it very informative. Thanks to all for the info so far.

I am probably about to ask a question that has been asked many times before. So, apologies to all.

Is it worth putting 17 or 18 inch rubber on my 98 vt wagon. It's stock standard no mods at all, except for a very tasty panasonic mp3 player on board.

The reason I ask is that VTs have a habit of eating tyres. Well mine does. I have set of standard TOYOs on at the moment that are doing alright.

Any suggestions on tyre type rim type and width. I know they will look good but don't want to replace them every 12 months.

Any thoughts or opinions good /bad appreciated.

Cheers Surfdog

Welcome surfdog, a mate of mine runs 17*8's on his vt wagon without probs.
Just make sure you rotate them every 10k and you shouldn't have any problems.
In my vt sedan i had to bolster the rear end because i chopped out 2 tyres but i'm not sure if the wagons have the same problem or not?!!

When you buy em ask em to rotate em every 5,000km.. They wiill do it.. If not, go to the next place and they will..

It's the least they can do..

i got VX, i'm not really sure about VT, if its got IRS you'll need to get a Camber & Toe In bush kit fitted.... also good idea to fit heavy duty springs and shocks....
