hey good people of the JC community,

Ii have a 2006 vz sv6 which i have just replaced a few power steering lines after they were broken and fluid went everywhere.

degreased the area around the power steering reservoir and quickly washed it off and used an air compressor to get rid of the water on the engine,

since that i randomly get a miss, not every time i drive the car but if it does start to miss it happens whilst driving and idling, have checked the connections but cant find what is causing it,.

will get a scan tool to see what error its throwing off but any advice on what to check would be great!

Hello
My suggestion would be to disconnect the battery, unplug all the connectors in that area and let them dry (or blow them dry with compressed air). Reconnect, remembering to allow for the ECU to relearn the system. If this fails, then read off the codes.

Yes it should, but I'm wondering if degreaser residue has got into the contacts on the connectors. Have you disturbed anything around the air intake at all? Disassemble / reassemble.

unfortunately you may have to pull the coils out which means you have to seperate the intake and lift it up enough to pull the coils out

Exact same issue on my daughters vz crewman...only after i degreased it a month ago...some days it doesnt miss a beat other days it will start up fine then start missing..shut it down for 5 then it runs fine...seems to random to be caused by residue is this a symptom of a cactus ecu...any help appreciated..
