Rattle and vibration

When i turn on the Air con the unit rattles and vibrates real bad.
does anyone know whats happening or is it normal

It should NOT rattle and vibrate very much at all.

Does it still work OK and what vehicle are we talking about.

If its a V8 Vn-Vr or a VT on check the mounting brackets on the block failing that the compressor is probably nearly RS.

its a VN 6, i just got a re gas and it still makes a weird noise and makes a thump noise when i turn it on
