Commodore VL SL V8.
Have been trying to find a good mechanic to fit a rear main seal in a VL V8, on the north side of Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast. Thank you.

Give Shane Alex a call. He is on facebook. I don't know if he can help but
he is the only one I would recommend.

Have already got in touch with Shane Alex, this is what I received from them. Unfortunately this is not something Shane does work on. Thank you for your reply.

Bris Euro, something like that. On Northside Brisbane.

Ask for Rollin

Address: 3/24 Grice St, Clontarf QLD 4019

PS. If you want it sleeved, then you should mention that up front.

Is there a reason why the oil is getting past the seal? Are you overfilling, is pressure building up and pushing oil out? Do you need to clean your PCV (breather valves).

If you bring the oil level down to normal level (measure with dipstick after engine is off for 5 mins) and loosen the OIL fill cap to release any excess pressure that PCV is blocking.

Any improvement?

VT&VX, thank you for your reply, have owned the VL from new, it sat in the garage for many years only getting a drive now and then on weekends. Through a marriage split up I got the VL. Started to use it more often, that's when it started to leak and has been getting worse ever since. Have changed the PCV valve when it started and I do not overfill. Thank you again for your reply.
