rear shock mount bolt striped

hi guys Ive taken out the rear shock in my vt wagon because of a knock and found the hole that the bolt that holds the bottom of the shock in place is striped dose any one know if i can drill it out and put a plain bolt in or do i have to replace the hole swing arm any help is greatly appreciated

i managed to strip the thread inside the shock mount aswell when i was fitting my rear shock back in....i ended up having to go buy a matching bolt that was shorter than the bolt for the mount and "rethread' the mount from the otherside if you get what i mean?

this worked though, i was able to clear out what was left of the thread and put the shock and bolt back on...lesson learned: do not use a rattle gun to fasten up shockie bolts lol i found that using a socket wrench does the job just fine..
