Hey bud you could get your polished parts clear anodised after you get the desired finish and it will last for years and only require a quick wipe over

So we had the car started the other weekend. **** didint go to plan. Other than the normal teething issues, we lost oil pressure. Turns out after finding out the oil pump shaft would not turn and pump didn't want to come away from motor we pulled front cover off..... Found this.....

So out with engine again. Oil pump shaft welded to inside of pump...
Thoughts?

Cam gear destroyed. And oil pump drive gear and shaft gonners...
My thoughts are that maybe the ex roller cam oil pump drive gear ( as it was a roller cam converted flat tappet) wasn't compatible..
Either way I got another one from a 308. So hopefully this shouldn't happen again. Your thoughts....??

Update: been a while since I have been to update.
But since have sorted me a new cam, have installed it and will resump and gasket everything up tommorrow.
But since the intake has been taken off it I took the time to port match it to the ported heads.
Quite a lot had to be taken off. Black lines show the scribing marks

So after 3 hours of porting out with tge air die grinder we had this result!

And with all ports finished

Also took a moment to enlarge the flange that the original 65mm throttle body bolted to to port match to the new bored out 70mm

So been a busy day today but needed to be done.
Should hopefully flow a bit better now as the ports are no longer 4-5mm out from the heads.

I know it's been a long time but the senator is now running. Though still a lot of work to be done. Blew sump gasket out some how so now leaking oil.
And also front shock blew shaft through the top hats so also needs replacing.
Have managed get the car to idle properly now. Before it wouldn't idle under 1200 and that was with the idle screw wound all the way in.
Base timings still out by about 5 degrees I think as it likes timing at 24 degrees. Iac now set at 40 steps. Holds 900rpm at 14.5ish afr.
Still dies when you give it a rev if you don't catch it but at this stage I'm happyish. Giving it some more advance may fix that?
Trying to upload video now
