I booked my car in for monday to have some tint done but I cant decide what to get..

Reflective/Mirror style tint or Black Tint?

Normally I'd get black tint on a white car, but thought the mirror tint would suit the chrome window surrounds, wheels and SS flutes...But its also illegal.

Disregarding legality... What would you choose?

I have only ever had the darkness of the tint tested, not its reflectivity... So I dont think the odds of being defected for it are overly high.

...

go black,i got mine done about a month ago 2 shades over legal on the back and 1 over on the sides looks sweet.
remember not 2 put ya windows down for 48 hours, and also watch out where they stick the "dont wind your windows down for 48 hours sticker" coz they put mine over my power window buttons but it also hung over on2 the dash face and when i peeled it off it took sum paint with it.

Discarding legality, reflective for sure!! Just bear in mind that black would look pretty damn good too and it'd be a safer bet - no chance of having to get the tint re-done legally later on.

hmmm Does anyone know how they test the reflectivity?

I've had them use this laser thing, where one peice goes either side of the window to test darkness by seeing how much light goes through the window... But never had them tested for reflectivity before? I think it might only be tested at Regency Park or other Vehicle Inspection Centres which makes it fairly safe on the road?

Well in the end I went with reflective despite the poll results... But not complete mirror finish... Heres some pics:

Looks good mate

I seriously don't reckon you'll have any problems with legality. I can't even tell it's reflective! Looks like a normal (nice) tint job to me...
