Hi folks,
With help from old threads from this awesome forum I cleaned out the bottle and filter and lines and nozzles and got the front washer going on my VX wagon. But for the life of me I can't work out how to get the nozzle off the tailgate so I can get the rear washer going! I pulled the trim off the tailgate and found you can't get to the back of the nozzle because it's inside the tail gate. I circled the back of it in the attached photo. I'm afraid if I just pull from the front I'll break it. Does anyone know how to get it off?
Thanks!!!

So a VX rear washer nozzle can't be pulled off from the outside (unless mine is aftermarket, but I don't think it is). In this pic you can see it has things that need squeezing together. It's a fiddle. You can shine a light into the tailgate and push one side with a screwdriver. When that pops through, spin the nozzle round 180º and do the other side.

Sadly for me the nozzle is fine, there's a blockage in the hose. Lots of internet people say the solution is a blast of compressed air. I did that and blew a hole in the line somewhere! It went pop like a balloon. So the job now is to replace the whole hose which I suspect will be very annoying. I'll end this and start a new thread about that if I can't work it out...

You may have a one way valve in the line somewhere to prevent drain back (?)
That might present as a 'blockage'.

You can manufacture a tool with a piece of coat hanger wire that will squeeze the tads in either side,
Or drill a small hole on the inside directly behind it and press the tabs in either side,
Being it will covered by the trim anyway..

Yes, the wagons have a valve, possibly sedans do too. But the pop sound is the hose blasting off the connection, I've done the same. I think it may be up front with the rest, I have a used loom from one. Check up there to see if water blasting out of line.

I went and checked. Link above is for front washers, it is hidden just before the nozzles inside hood. The rear washer valve is on the passenger side fire wall, slimline version in white in pic. So if it's still connected there, then it has likely blown hose off at rear nozzle. It likely has to come off anyway to clear blockage, and reattach hose.

There's possibly an access hole on the inside behind the trim, like the access holes for the roof spoiler nuts, but can't recall if one for washer to help get at the retainer tabs.

You and Grey_Hawke are awesome, thank you! You picked it, the pop was the hose coming off the connection. I'm so pleased to be not replacing the whole line! The non return valve had seized, a bit of mucking round and everything goes fine now. Thanks!

Yep, if I have to do it again I think I'll drill holes.
