Removing sunroof help??

Hey guys I've scored a sunroof out of a vk-vl that I plan to fit to the vc.. my big question is, how do I REMOVE It from the roof cut?? I don't plan to install it until next year but I don't have the room for the car roof so I want to remove it all with no damage.. what's the best method?

I assume to drill out the rivets but what about the top seal? It's hard as hell.. can they be removed without splitting it?? Can they be repurchased??


Any help or brainstorm ideas would be tops

You don't want to reuse that seal, it'll be useless. Once the rivets are out, you should be able to gently pry it (carefully bend back the front flap), maybe with the assistance of a heat gun. Speak to a windscreen mob about an appropriate seal replacement, Oz auto seals probably have something that will work. Also make sure to template the hole, it's going to take a precision cut to reinstall and seal well.

Unsure if its the same as the later models. But I had to use a scraper to separate the roof because it was glued together.
