removing vs harmonic balancer

hi guys .can anyone help me out .i need to replace crank angle sensor.but cannot get harmonic balancer off .i have a pullie but the holes in the balancer are to small.the bolts that came with pullie are to big .is there another way of removing balancer.any help would be great .chrs ash

You definitely need the puller. You will need to buy three of the correct size bolts, preferably high tensile According to my VT manual they are 1/4" UNF bolts, I'm sure that VS are the same.

yes. had no probs there .grabed a piece of pipe that fitted over spanner .rested it on chasie rail and turned the key.did it twice and bolt was undune.
went to bolt place today and got 1/4 bolts and presto balance came off.
thanks for your help guys.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead.

Just to confirm...they definitely require 1/4 bolts?? I am reasonably sure that most other bolt measurements on the car are metric?
