Gday all, just wondering if anyone can shine a light on this? From my understanding the outer part is backwards.
Ok, here goes! the inner part with the splines only goes on one way so thats correct. The outer part has a recess on one side for a gasket which according to my gregorys manual goes on the boot side, which would make sense making the flat side sit against the rear shaft (transferring drive/power). But the new CV has the gasket on this side. Old CV did not have a gasket on either side. I have tried to turn the outer part around with no success (just jams). I'm assuming this cant be done. The included instructions had nothing about this type of joint.
Thought I would ask before returning it to bursons.
Cheers!
Right (but wrong?) way with recess
Wrong (but right?) way, cannot install circlip
