Replacing Brake Pad Locking Bolts

When changing the front brake pads, do I need to replace the locking bolts. The manual I have says to replace them as they have a special compound on the threads. When I called Holden to get the bolts, they said that they were not aware of any requirement to replace the bolts.

Any advice?

ive only ever replaced to bolts if fitting genuine brake pads as they come with new bolts, you don't need to replace them, if you want to be on the safe side use some loctite on the bolts when putting them back in
