VE Series I SS Ute
Pete might have better luck than I did with mine. We have some shocking roads that I was driving on at least fortnightly when I had the ute. Most of the roads Pete drives on a probably sealed unlike the terrible roads we have on my way to my now holiday house. Although I spent a fair amount buying a festoon LED from Jaycar for the cab light and it too only lasted two or so years before it flickered. I still replaced the interior bulbs with LED again as they draw less current and don't burn out the contact holder in the light like incandescent can do if left on too long.

The first pair of LED bulbs I bought were for the Redline in 2012, and still motoring along...
They're like having headlights at both ends.
Have the same in the Maloo and Magnum. They are all eBay 'cheapies'.

Do you need to have canbus ones in the reverse lights on the VE?

I use the ones in the eBay link I posted in my VE and two VZ’s… soon to be three VZ’s.

Auxito are not a no name brand. Good stuff from them.
I wish i had better life with them than ive had. I'm lucky if i get over 6 months. Did everything except indicators and only my reverse and high beams are still going. They claim 50,000 hours, but quick math says closer to 200 hours before a low beam and brake light went out. Feels like im always doing a parker or number plate light.

Not on the reverse lights on VE or VF, about the only external main lights that aren't 'CAN specific'.

LEDs are ok but they don't like vibration and eventually start flickering, even the expensive ones don't last I've found. And at $35ea it's an expensive exercise to replace them every 18 - 24 months. But light output is fair bit better on the VS with LEDs.
I had the same issue with LEDs. I changed my parkers out for LEDs but they only lasted about 6 months before flickering. Went back to incandescent bulbs. I did only buy cheapies though.

I don’t get though why they can make LED lights for home use that are good, cheap and reliable but a good automotive LED bulb costs an arm and a leg.

Cheapies would probably have a quite long lifetime as a reverse bulb as you aren’t using reversing lights that often.
