Stainless steel is the best to go if plan to keep the car for a long time or you could go with mild steel which is cheaper than stainless

Yep live in Margaret River and not a bad place to live but is expensive for petrol, food and ect

Good to hear....is that 2 inch's over stock rule because they believe the car cant handle safely or something?

What ever the largest wheel your tyre placard says on your car, you are legally able to have an inch on top of that,
so in my instance it allows an 18" wheel, can go larger.....but I think 18" is large enough.

On the drivers side door there should be a sticker stating rim and tyre sizes

Trik, in WA it is 2 sizes above what the placard says..and the placard is located inside your drivers door near where the lock part acrually latches onto the car.

This is a bit taken from DPI's website about the wheel size (only applicable to those in WA) more info can be found at http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/1884.asp

The fitment of so called "plus one" and "plus two" and tyres is acceptable providing :

the overall diameter of the large rims fitted with the lower profile tyres do not exceed the overall diameter

all tyres and rims fitted to the vehicle are of the same size and profile

with the exemption of item (f), the tyres and rims are in conformity with the requirements specified above in items (a) to (j).

Get what i have, 19inch rims n SSSL rear n SL front...
nah don't....lol

Sorta illegal....

Ohh, read a comment that the size of the rim doesn't change the ride height...
Actually is sorta does...
My cars ride height increased by almost a centimeter when i upgraded from 17inch to 19inch...
Reason for it is on the 19's the side wall doesn't compress as much...

Thats what i've found neways...

about the size thing...
U can only go 2 sizes bigger than the factory fitted rim size...
From memory that an ADR regulation n all car in oz have to comply with that...
So if ur care comes stock with 15, then 17 is max legal...etc
