Me mates just brought a VT SS with the LS1 in it.
Its got pacemaker extractors and aftermarket exhaust. (sounds better than stock LS1 anyways)
Has 170,000kays, one owner, auto, VGC, service records blah, blah.
Brought it for $12,000.

Now the thing that pisses me off is the fact that he is getting similar fuel economy to my ecotec.

12 - 14l / 100kays around town driven carefully.

I'm like b/s! me mate says, nah, i've checked it a couple of times, you know, fill tank, record kays driven, fill tank again.

My ecotec hangs around 11 - 12l / 100 kays.

If LS1's are this good, everyone should have one.

Is this fuel economy normal?

Bugger the old fuel drinking 308's

that is normal for a bolt on edited ls1 mine has the same figures 11-12/100 around town and 9l/100 highway fuel usage is in between v6 and a 5L its not a freak

Before i had a little more work done i could get 9 on the highway, 11-12 in the city. It all depends on how they are driven. Since ive had new head and cam setup and playing with 330+ rwkw i can barely get 300 km's out of a tank.

Same here.
I have an edit and normal bolt ons and get 11-12 around the city/burbs. This only happens if i run premium fuel though.

The 91 V8 VN with a Greenfoam tune got 11L/100kms on a trip to Birdwoood (160km round trip up the Adelaide hills and back to Seaford) At one point it was showing 9.7 but the small towns seen that go into the 10's for most of the trip and then some long hills at the end it hit 11.0L/100kms into the driveway. Around town it sits around 14L/100kms driven firm to hard at times - so 14L/100kms could come down more yet (from 15-16 with std tune)
