Rip Shifter.....who has got it and what are your thoughts.

had one for a couple of months now, wouldnt buy another manual with out putting a ripshifter in.

the shifts are so much quicker and cleaner especially 2nd - 3rd

its supose to be for 2nd to 3rd.... thats the hole point of a rip shift.

4seen quoted me $550 to install clutch and ripshift. would be alot less if i was just getting the ripshift.

I don't get why I would ever buy an aftermarket clutch. The one I have is stock and shifts perfectly. Never missed a gear and performs ultra quick shifts (I dont think it could get much faster). I have seen this rip shift thing in a shop before and it had a diagram of 2nd to 3rd but I didn't read it. Why exactly is it so good and how does it make 2nd to 3rd so good?

They do make one for the manual V6 if I remember correctly. Now, the shifter is installed and let me tell you this K-99, your going to love it. It really is one of those units that should have been installed in these sorts of cars when new or at least a dealer option. Chev's had it installed in an hour or two and from I saw there is a fair amount of work involved. Drive shaft off, tranny X member out, cat back removed and then the interior.

As soon as it was tested I had to bail to do some running around, there was a smile on my face from ear to ear. Was the best $$$ to spend on a bolt on aside from the OTRCAI.

i will tell you next tuesday nite, i have one coming on the way and get it installed on tuesday.

I put one in my ve as Ute 2007 after a while I couldn't get reverse ? Any idea why mate ?

Bit of an old thread here.
Probably need the stops adjusted so it goes all the way into gear.
