Roof gutter clips VT-VE?

Take a clip to a 3D print place and see what they can do. At the price these clips are new, it would be cost effective to 3D scan and print.

Yes. That’s them. The ones I found were a different colour though.

By simply looking at the photos I can't see how they work, or what the arms do as they sit in a channel. Is there a spot welded panel join edge under the covers perhaps which they locate on?

I know I supplied NOS strips with clips in them several years ago to swap over while getting some panel work done, wasn't impressed with how they were installed. Uneven height, slight waviness over length and had the ends near bootlid held in place with silastic. I wasn't sure if the retainers could be installed wrong or not seated correctly, or if they'd even bent the strips creating the slight dips. And naturally, lack of parts and cost of clips, along with disappointing prior work means I'm worries about removing to check or redo or end up worse. It's a shame that when Holden realised they were no longer producing cars that they didn't pick up on producing their original spares that were hard to obtain.

I stand corrected I could have sworn I used some in the channel of my VZ trims.

VE strip at the bottom.
VZ at the top.
VT-VZ clip top left. Has a VE clip sitting in the channel.
The VE VF channel tucks under a bit more.
The VE trims fit and clip into the VZ. They fit on my Crewman. Maybe not a sedan because the trim bends away a bit. I think the wagon would fit as it’s longer and straighter.
If you jammed something in there you could a VE clip to work in a VZ gutter trim.
I can’t get the VZ clip into the VE trim. It’s super close though.

I guess we have to be creative now because these parts are not around much. Adapt and over come.

I have found a BMW clip that looks similar. Am going to try some. Also going to look for Opel and Vauxhall for the same clips. (I found the Crewman rear seat latch is an Opel part used in the Astra.)

These would be a good one for someone to 3D print in ABS.

Nope. Has to VZ. The VE/VF ones were too loose.

If anyone is at a pick-a-part, rat the roof trims and their clips.

Well, come on 3D-print guys, chop chop.

Roof rail retainers, VZ window sliders await.

Here's one for an obscure part. I don't know how often these wear or create rattles etc, never had to deal with one, or had the glass out completely.

I have samples of the roof clips, but the VZ sliders I had to use. The cheap Chinese ebay pack of 50 are yet to catch on LOL.

I need to dig them out though. That’s going to take a bit of time.

Would be worth revisiting, it was a while ago that I took a look.
