Ruined Plastic center console

Hey guys,

I’m trying to clean my interior a bit today. There was some sticky adhesive on the grey plastic of the center consol which I cleaned up with WD40 no problems. I then went to clean up the WD40 with methylated spirits and instantly my rag turned grey and the plastics silverish. Did I just mess up my plastic? Or is it just dirt?

^^^^ This. I used metho on my VE in one spot and it bleached the plastic trim, never again. Don't advise you try it but on some plastic panels general purpose thinners is safer than metho.

Yeah I had a feeling, thought I should ask anyway just in case it was dirt coming off. I’ll find some replacement trim at pick-a-part. Thanks mate
