We got an 06 vz v6 at work

Its riddled with some issues....

# check oil light comes on all the time - gave it new oil, new pressure sensor

# powertrain error comes on -- gave it new throttle body

# accelerator not working - gave it a new pedal

# key wasnt touching ignition ring, replaced ring

Scan errors are
# P05522 - oil pressor sensor not present
# P2228 - Barometric Pressure sensor - low voltage
# P2122 - Accelorator pedal sensor low voltage
# P0102 - Maf sensor low voltage

We put in another MAF

What is barometric sensor???

Theyve put in a huge amp subwoofer and stereo previously, wiring looks dodgey

Has a new alternator, and the voltage is fine

Weve changed the components and its still not coming good

Any advice would go a long way thanks.....

Mate they've certainly chucked the parts cannon at it. The barometer in the hallway tells me what's going on with the weather.
It might be signaling maf sensors
and auto wipers. If they've been mucking around with the wiring could be an earth or damage to connectors, harnesses or looms.
The maf, accelerator pedal, and throttle body sensors stuff should all be related. Other Forum members will probably chime in.
If all else fails take it to a good sparky. Good luck.

Maybe just maybe the wrong oil pressure switch has been fitted
Just an uneducated guess cause I fitted an incorrect switch.

I had a mechanic scan my car and tell me left front wheel sensor fault.
I scanned it with a cheap scanner borrowed from a neighbour and found O2 sensor.
Replaced sensor and problem solved.
Don't always trust fancy scanners the mechanics have.
I bought my own scanner from Aldi for $50, works great.

does the VZ have different types of oil pressure sensors?

do u mean like an OBD2 scanner...i see bunnings have them

yea we compared maf sensor voltage compared to another alloytech, and voltages were different on 5 wire plug....2 outside wires were 4.5 watts on the good car, this vz didnt match that

Checking the voltage from the MAF is almost useless but it could be the 5v reference circuit from the PCM that has failed, possible if so many sensors are saying similar things. Barometer is inside the MAP sensor and only reads for a split second before the car starts

Hey mate, the barometer in the map sensor, it can only be reading barometric pressure, but what sensors is it signaling? Like OP I didn't realize that they had one.
I'm assuming its the MAF or the sensor in the Throttle Body.
Cheers.

I hate Bunnings with a vengeance but this one looks very similar to what I bought from Aldi for $50
Good thing is if it don't work on your car you can take it back.

As for different oil pressure switches I was told there was 3, but I am married so I have been lied to before.

The barometer reading is read by the MAP sensor before the car is started. The MAP sensor is a pressure sensor. It can only read barometric pressure before the car started not while it’s running

Common theme for all those codes seems to be low/no voltage. That would say to me you should start looking at looms and earths. The oil and Barometric sensor (MAP) share ground and power according to this diagram - https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/vz-wiring-diagram-here.66341/

It also mentions a ECU case ground, so make sure the ECU is attached and grounded to the car properly.

Wouldn’t hurt to back probe a few sensors to confirm RJK’s suggestion. Oil pressure sensor for example will have 3 wires, one should be 5v, one 0v and the last (return signal) would be between 0.45 - 0.55v with ignition on. Maybe 1.5-1.8v at idle.
Baro sensor I think runs around 4.5v ignition on.
MAP Maybe 1-1.5v at idle.
If that scantool mentioned above has access to engine data it may even be possible to read return signal voltages from some sensors but it won’t show you the 5v input or ground circuits
