wow, not too many REAL horror movies mentioned yet....
id have to say, for the age i saw it at (like 7 or something) childs play scared the sh*t out of me, i was freaking out that chucky was gunna jump out and ran at me with that knife.
a few other movies that left some sort of scary impact when i saw them were, the shining, candyman, IT, hellraiser, poltergiest, phantasm, the bunker, house of 1000 corpses (for sheer gore)....and the list goes on.

Like xlr8_87, I havent really ever watched a movie that made me scared to go to sleep. Except for Freddy Cruger (spelling?) when I was 6 or 7 years old. I LOVE "scary" movies...im a bit of an adrenalin junkie...but nothing so far has made freaked me out heaps. Ive seen SAW, the Grudge, The Ring, Texas chainsaw massacre, wolf creek and all that but none of them really lived up to expectations. Out of those ones, I would probably say The Grudge was the scariest for me. Oh, and Pet Cemetery was pretty good too. Aww man, now I want to watch a scary movie!! Are any new ones coming out soon??

Pajero LWB Wagon, Power/economy what's that ???
I've only been scared by one movie in my life but it was more my own thoughts inspired by the movie. I have jumped during heaps though with shock from the unexpected but that's not being scared.
I can't recall the name of the movie that scared me or what it was about but it had demons who came from the bush or forest. I was 10 and snuck into the drive-in on the floor of my brother's car.
After the movie, on the way home, my brother took a detour through the backroads. We lived in a mostly rural area with plenty of bush, no houses for miles and no street lights. We were talking about the movie and I said it didn't scare me so he pulled over and said get out and walk in front of the car down the track (lots of gravel roads )with no lights on. Yes I'm gullible so I did. I walked about 50m then the lights came on and I was thinking good I've actually had enough of this but my brother hung a 180 and took off leaving me in the pitch black with my thoughts.
It took me about 45 mins before I saw the first lights of a house and another 30 minutes to get home. He was waiting at the end of our sreet so he didn't arrive home without me.

Edit: I just recalled another. I was 7 and there was a horrorthon on TV. I wasn't allowed to watch it but being summer I was trying to sleep outside on the patio. I could here the TV and a phone rang (on the TV) and a man was talking, he obviously finished the call and turned to his wife and said " we have to make sure the house is secure, Vampires have been spotted at the end of the street". I lasted about 10 seconds before I ran inside to my bed.

its scary that ppl actually have thoughts like that to make a movie bout syc minded people. Brrrrrr

i have to agree with this comment, movies dont seem to bother me too much (ok the ring did a little!) it the fact that someone can think this stuff up that scares me. opens up the thought that anyone could be thinking this freaky **** and applying it somewhere for real. or worse....
people scare me.
