Hey all,
Just posting there to see if anyone can help me with my sv6 sportwagon series 2 that all of a sudden has been having some pretty big problems.
(PLEASE READ)
i figured out that i had fucked the number 6 cylinder piston, ended up getting a new engine from a scrapyard and so far have had zero problems and she rubs sweet as! turns out not filling the oil up caused this, a true consideration for the future

A rough run down (ironic I know) is that the car recently fucked up whilst I was driving home from work, engine was misfiring bad and running real rough, engine light was flashing and the stability control was coming up as faulting.
Have replaced both spark plugs and coilpacks that I thought could’ve been the cause of these issues to no avail. Topped it up with some oil because I was low when I checked the dipstick to also no change. Have checked fault codes and honestly can’t remember what came up but there was a decent amount of them.
My old man has taken it into his workshop to be properly looked at but I thought whilst it’s there I’d ask here if anyone could know any other possible cause.
For the record before this the car was running fine and has about 230k on the odometer.
Cheers in the meantime.

Re scan it, Get hold of the codes and do a bit of research,
Being it’s done 230,000 k/s,
I am tipping plugs and coils maybe,
But the codes will indicate where it’s misfiring.

Did replace the plugs and coils after it happened and nothing different, being at my dads workshop I’m hoping they’d do the codes again too

ok,
Did it happen after the Plugs and Coils Replaced, or before that work ?
Were the coils after market units ? as there are a lot of crappy coils on the market going cheap.

Codes will be your next step,
Couldnt the people at your dads workshop not able to fix it,
if they were able to scan it ?

Before for the plugs and coils, not sure if they’re aftermarket as my stepbrother got ‘em for me as he’s a mechanic. I’m pretty sure that’s the first thing these people would do but haven’t got an update from them yet
