I took the intake manifold off, valves disgusting. Did a valve clean as best I could and put it all back together. No misfiring so fingers crossed that's sorted that out. Setup a misfire counter on the scanner while I was at it.
Carbon build-up is a common issue on all direct injection only engines unfortunately though it can be less prominent with good service history and carbon cleaning once in a while... Do you know if this car has been serviced well?
It was always logbook serviced. As to whether it had a carbon clean done, I never asked. From looking at it though, I think I'm the first to do it. I cleaned up most of it but I reckon I might book it for a walnut blast. It's earnt it.
