Hello again everyone!

I have been having a lot of fun with my car. Alternator died and took the battery with it. New plugs (that was fun).

So now, I have a new issue that's gotten worse. At park/drive idle, I have a VERY obvious vibration in the car, but not quite constant. It surges a bit.

No codes pop, no change in RPM's. Just this vibration like it's got a bad plug (hence me changing them).

I am thinking it's the motor mounts. The car IS seven years old, and has 130k on the clock.

If it isn't the mounts, what could it be?

If it is, what ones are suggested?

The car in question:
2010 VE Omega Dual fuel
Engine: Ly7, built Oct 2010
Trans: 4L60E, rebuilt March 2017

Thanks in advance!

Vibration happened before or after the plug replacement?

Did all the plugs look the same or was one blacker and dirtier than the others?

Afternoon everyone.

It did it occasionally before the plugs changed, but not as much.

Plugs were all in the same condition, no extra fouling on any.

It is doing the same on both.

Datalogger isn't showing any misfires or anything, and it's not surging, just vibrating randomly.

Yep, all clean. Checked them both after work yesterday. Did the TB when I took it off for the plugs, and MAF looks good.

And like I said, she's running right. No blips, surges, or dips. Throttle response is good, engine is clear throughout the range. Just at idle this shudder goes on that feels almost like a misfire.

Engine mounts usually fail around 100k so def replace them if they've never been done. Look for brown coloured stains running down the mount, means they are leaking.

You know, that's something that's perplexed me since I've come to Australia.

In the US, the same car has things rated at 10/15k miles, 50k miles, 100k miles....and here the numbers are the same, just with kilometres behind them instead of miles.

As a prime example, in Florida, where it gets up to 40c-45c as a regular occurrence, the maintenance schedule is technically half as stringent as here in Adelaide, if you go by the distance travelled.

Good example is motor mounts. Here they're listed at 100k, in the US, 100k as well, just miles instead of kilometres.

Why is that? It can't be the environmental differences, because in places like Airzona, Utah, New Mexico, or Texas, it gets STUPID hot, hot enough to logically change the maintenance cycle of a car....but they don't. So why is it that in (genrally) less harsh conditions, the cycle is cut almost in half?
